Treatment can be directed toward curing the cancer if the tumor can be removed or seems able to be treated successfully and if the patient's medical condition permits.
    If the tumor seems too large or if the patient is too old or not in good health, palliative therapy can be provided to slow tumor growth and reduce symptoms.

• Treatment for Cure  External beam radiation therapy 
  using the linear accelerator is the treatment of choice. 
  Some experts, however, believe that a radical 
  prostatectomy can be done successfully in certain 
  cases of Stage C-1 cancers where the tumor is 
  confined closely to the prostate and the surgeon can 
  remove all the cancer with a margin of normal tissue . 
  Some urologists will give hormonal agents to shrink 
  the cancers before surgery.
